Tom LYNCH went over to Abingdon last week.

Miss Lucy BUSTON is very ill. Typhoid fever.

H. Wade BEAVERS left for Florida Monday morning.

Mrs. LYONS has returned from her visit to Kentucky.

Miss Jennie WOOLWINE has returned from a visit to Giles county.

Mr. H. B. HULL, Deputy Collector for this district, was in town Tuesday.

Mr. REED, a former citizen of Jeffersonville, now of Saltville visited in town last week.

Missess WILLIAMS and MAUKUP, two beautiful young ladies of Peterstown, W. Va. are visiting Miss Ollie SURFACE.

News comes to us from Bland of the killing of a young man named KEGLEY. It appears that he was resisting arrest when he was shot by Sergeant Terry.

The Robert CROCKETT farm, advertised for sale in the News for the last four weeks, was sold at auction Tuesday for $2,250. Jno. G. CROCKETT being the purchaser.
