Mr. A. D. WITTEN was in town
yesterday.
Jno. W. CHAPMAN Esq., is still confined to his room.
Mrs. Jane L. P. SPOTTS has been very ill, of pleurisy, but is
improving.
Rev. C. R. BROWN, minister in charge of the Bramwell mission was
at his old home east of town this week.
DeWitt LOCKHART, son of Smith Lockhart, was at one time believed
to be past recovery, with meningitis, but is recovering.
Rev. B. DENNIS and wife have returned. Mr. DENNIS has been
on a trip north. Mrs. DENNIS on a visit to her former home -
Wytheville.
James MOORE alias 'Tood' MOORE, a former citizen of the
town, but now a citizen of Alabama, is spending a few days with his
mother.
Joseph V KELLY, operating in the counties west of us for the N. &
W. railroad returned Sat. night in consequence of an attack of quinsy.
He is now convalescent.
We are pained to read in an exchange the death of Allen T. NEWBERRY, Esq.
