LOCAL NEWS

Esq. Wm. O. YOST continues in rather feeble health.

Miss Mary GARNET, of Springville, was in town visiting friends the latter part of last week.

Miss Laura LYONS has returned from Washington county and Mr. John LYONS from Kentucky.

Peery GREEVER, son of Dr. C. W. GREEVER, is very ill at the home of his grandfather, W. W. PEERY.

Col. A.J. MAY, absent for some weeks, engaged in the West Va. courts for his clients, the N. & W., returned yesterday.

The late Judge KELLY told a friend of his some time ago that the trouble with his jaw grew out of a habit he had of going to bed with a quid of tobacco in his cheek - a practice which he had kept up from his boyhood.

Dec. 25, 1889, at the residence of Henry PECK, on the South Fork of the Clinch, by Rev. Wm. H. KELLY, Mr. Sterling W. YOST to Miss Florence PECK, all of Tazewell County Va.

Jan. 30, 1890 at the residence of Henry PECK, by Rev. Wm. H. KELLY, Mr. Peter A. YOST to Miss Fannie C. PECK, all of Tazewell county Va.

Miss Ann KINSER, grand aunt of Dr. C. W. GREEVER, aged about 85 years, died after a very short  illness, at the residence of the latter on Monday last.
