Jno. W. SPOTTS, Esq. of Richlands was in the city on Sunday last. Esq. Wm. O. YOST, whose health has been declining for some months, is at present very ill.Esq. Wm. MOORE, of Abbs Valley, stopped over with friends Monday, returning from a visit to the Cove.

A wreck of three cars of the local, at Sword's Creek Wednesday stopped the progress of the mail train at that point, whence it returned to Bluefield next day.

Mr. WOOD, assistant to Mr. BRAD, agent, has finished and moved into a new cottage at Kelly, while a business house is nearing completion for Judge KELLY.

Mr. Adam HENDRICK, an aged citizen who resides four miles east of town, met with an accident Friday last, which may cost him his life. He was attending a corn mill, driven by a steam engine, when a very high head of steam gave such velocity to the stones, that the revolving stone flew into (? can't read) scattering the fragments - striking Mr. HENDRICK in many places, bruising his right shoulder, which has formerly been broken by an accident, and crushing the bone in his left arm from the shoulder to the elbow.

Married - In Burkes Garden Church, at the close of the regular public service, Sunday, March 9th (1890). Mr. John P. GOSE, of Burkes Garden to Miss Maggie G. SNAPP of Washington County, Va.

COL. ISAAC EDWARD MCDONALD, one of the wealthiest farmers of this county, died in Indiana, where he had gone some months since to be treated for a cancer. His remains will arrive at this place during the week and be buried in the town cemetery. Col. McDonald was formerly a citizen of  Washington county, but at the close of the civil war, purchased the splendid farm of the late G. Pearis George, near Graham, where he has since resided. Col. MCDONLD was never married but leaves a large number of relatives in this and other Southwestern counties to mourn his loss. He was about fifty years of age.
