LOCAL NEWS

Mr. Ralph IZARD has rented the beautiful property of Mrs. LYONS for a home.

Mr. S.V. KELLY is relocating the street car line in places where improvements were necessary.

Dr. HARGRAVE has made the necessary water connection for his new soda water fountain, ordered.

Our friend, Capt. A.T. WARD of the Cove, has again suffered a family affliction in the loss of another daughter.

Mr. W.G. HARRISSON has begun the building of a handsome addition and front to his residence east of the Seminary.

Mr. H.C. ALDERSON has letters from Hon. Jno. A. BUCHANAN and the department, which indicate a Sunday mail, at least as to delivery at this point.

Dr. J.M. ESTILL and Mr. A.B. BUCHANAN, next door neighbors have made improvements about their residence property that adds to the appearance of Main street.

A new telegraph office has been established on Main St. in the Stras-Harrisson building. The great inconvenience of getting messages from the depot is thus obviated.

A block of ice from the Graham Ice Company, attracted much attention on our streets Wed. Frozen in the center of the block were bottles of beer, oranges, apples and green twigs.

Messrs. T.G. WITTEN & Son were ready when the spring came, their house arranged, their new goods unpacked, and now they are ready to show and sell. Their low prices will make this follow as a necessity.
