The Methodist church at this place is without a pastor. The Rev. Mr. BROWN took French leave on Monday evening last and his whereabouts are unknown. Something of mystery has been thrown around the case, but there was history and rumor enough to make discretion the better part of valor it seems. At any rate he has skipped, vamoosed. His wife still here, is held in high esteem by all her acquaintances.
