Messrs. V.L. and Moses SEXTON spent the
Thanksgiving season with their relatives and friends at Marion and
Chatham Hill.
Mr. & Mrs. W.A. LYONS of Roanoke, took Thanksgiving dinner and
spent some days with their mother, Mrs. Nannie LYONS.
Mr. A.J. RANKIN sends word that he will be in Tazewell next court
with a display of Jewelry, etc, especially for the holidays.
H.A. WHITE, Esq. of Paint Lick, has purchased a new Circassian,
Walnut, Concert Grand Upright Piano for his beautiful home. Prof T.H.R.
CHRISTIE, Radford Va. sold the fine piano.
At his home on Clear Fork, in Bland County, last Saturday evening, Mr.
W. M. BISHOP was robbed of $600. Two masked men entered his room
and with drawn pistols forced him to unlock his safe. They escaped.
The illness from which Mrs. R. A. MILLER had suffered for some
weeks terminated fatally last Sunday night. It had been known for some
days that she could not recover, but that made the loss no less keen to
her family. Mrs. MILLER had many admirable traits as woman, wife
and mother. The funeral took place from the house Tuesday, Rev. Mr.
BULLARD Officiating.
