Mr. I. FRANK is over from Wytheville.

Esq. George W. ST. CLAIR went down to Richlands yesterday.

Mr. Allen HIGGINBOTHAM is reported somewhat improved.

Dr. Alex HUFFORD'S condition is such that his friends fear a fatal ending for his illness.

In an affray at Bluefield, West Virginia Saturday night, George MINOR shot and killed Thomas BRUCE.

Misses Jessie O'KEEFFE and Mamie STOCKTON are visiting Mrs. Robert GILLESPIE near Pounding Mill.

Mr. John H. KELLY came up the other day from Gate City, where he has been on business for the past six months.

Dr. O'KEEFFE and Mr. S. WALTON left yesterday, for Kentucky, with a view to buying thoroughbred horses at a sale at Lexington.

Conductor Rees T. BOWEN, who had such a remarkable escape in a wreck near Bailey's is at the home of his father here, recuperating from the shake up.
