LADIES EXHIBIT

The exhibit was very fine. Mrs. A. M. TYLER, of Richmond, Va. and Mrs. George F. NYE, of Richmond, Va. carried off a large majority of the premiums.

AMUSEMENTS

Best lady rider, Miss Stella CROCKETT.
Best rider in single gentleman's tournament, H.W. O'KEEFFE.
Best rider in married gentleman's tournament, R.B. GILLESPIE.
Best boy rider, Henry PEERY.
Best and handsomest baby, Robert Felix GILLESPIE.

The running races were good - above the average at pumpkin shows. Most of the races were won by horses owned in Tazewell county.

In the death of Mr. J.M. MCGUIRE, at Cedar Bluff, the county lost one of its best-known citizens. He was a man of extended popularity and his funeral brought together the largest concourse of people ever assembled near his home. He was buried with Masonic honors; a number of Masons from Tazewell lodge will be present.
