Will Henry ALDERSON remains ill at his home here. 

Mrs. Thomas RATLIFF has moved into the house on Main Street formerly occupied by Misses BELEW.

Mr. John E. BURSON and little son of Bristol are in the city. 

John IRESON, the carpenter, has finished the scales near the Post office.

Rev. Samuel W. MOORE, of Pocahontas, will preach in the Presbyterian Church next Sunday.

On last Tuesday three young girls were committed to the county jail by Esq. T. A. GILLESPIE, for "lewdness and lasciviousness."

An enjoyable day was had at the hospitable and splendid home of Mrs. A. P. GILLESPIE on yesterday. Mrs. GILLESPIE gave a dining in honor of Mr. and Mrs. William DEVAULT, of Tennessee, who are visiting Mrs. J. W. CHAPMAN. Mrs. S. L. HIGGINBOTHAM, mother of Mr. A.S. and A. J. HIGGINBOTHAN, was among the honored guests of the occasion.

Marshall KISER and Miss Dixie MCCALL, daughter of John MCCALL, were married last Wednesday evening at three o'clock, at Kelly, by Rev. W. C. FOSTER.
