POUNDING MILL

J.B. HURT'S fine residence is almost completed.

Mr. Jim KITTS white-washed several rooms for W.B. STEELE this week.

Dr. George WILLIAMS, of Burke's Garden, visited homefolks here a few days this week.

Miss Lou MURPHY is the champion fisherwoman here, having caught a perch that weighed 2 1/2 pounds.

Dr. W.R. WILLIAMS came up from Richlands today to see his mother, Mrs. W.C. WILLIAMS who still remains very ill.

Mrs. Sam GILLESPIE and the baby have joined her husband, at this place and are boarding at W. B. STEELE'S. Sam is clerking for Steele, Hurt and Co.

Mrs. George BAILEY and little daughter returned to Richlands today, after having spent a week with her daughter, Mrs. chap GILLESPIE. The third boy arrived at Mr. GILLESPIE last week.

Messrs. Charles and Frank BELEW, KELLY, HENRY, and a couple of other young men, came down from Tazewell to fish. They have pitched their tents in a beautiful place below first tunnel and we understand will remain for a fortnight. We trust they will enjoy the good fresh air and catch all of the fluny tribe that will let them.
