Judge J.H. STUART is at Grundy on legal business.

Mrs. Robert MEEK and her sister, Miss GROSECLOSE, were in the city on Wednesday.

J.W. SPOTTS, Claim Agent of the N & W Ry. paid us a flying visit on Wednesday.

Capt. A.G. COX and his son, Robert, of Clear Fork, were on our street several days this week.

Rev. Mr. WAYTS immersed the two bright daughters of Mr. C.H. REYNOLDS last Sunday, in the Baptist Church.

Miss Mamie STONE left on Thursday afternoon for a visit to her home. She will remain away until August.

Misses Susie and Nellie GEORGE of Thompson Valley, attended the commencement of the High School this week.

Mr. Robert TARTER of Five Oaks has recently paid a pleasant visit to his daughter, Mrs. John L. CROCKETT, of Bluefield.

James V. PIERCE, of Ridgeway, South Carolina is spending a few days in town. He was called here upon the sickness and death of his brother.

Wallace HUFFORD is visiting his sister, Mrs. H.S. SURFACE, and friends in Tazewell. Wallace has been at Roanoke College, Salem, Va.

Dr. Thomas E. PEERY of Bluefield was in town Wednesday. He will return here tomorrow and have his headquarters at Dr. CROCKETTS office.
