BENBOW

Mr. A. LUNDY and family accompanied by Mr. Sam HOWERY boarded the east bound train Monday evening for New Hampton, Mo. where they will make their future home. We always regret to lose such good people. They will be greatly missed by all who know them.

Miss Allie Gray BUCHANAN is taking music lessons under Miss STUBBS, who is teaching at Mr. C.A. LEECE'S.

Mr. Charley GEORGE gave his little daughter Nelly a birthday party last Saturday, to which many of her friends were invited. They all had the very nicest time.

Miss Sallie CATRON of Wittens Valley is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. WILLIAMS, this week.
Mrs. Milton THOMPSON has been visiting her sister at Swords Creek for the past few days.

Miss Zobedia GROSECLOSE is teaching a subscription school at the mouth of Organ Valley and is having a good attendance.

In answer to a letter, written by our supervisor recently, through the columns of C.V. NEWS, which evidently was written to the citizens, or aimed at them of our valley, we would beg to say, that he should have given us a chance to answer the questions being asked without answering them himself, and he also suggested that we have our roads double traced, but we think it is the custom to have a single track before doubling. If Mr. PEERY is so fond of asking questions certainly he will allow us the same privilege, so we should be glad to see an itemized statement, such as Mr. BURKE gave, showing exactly how much road tax is received yearly, and then how every dollar of this money was spent within the past four years. You will please answer the above questions, will you Mr. PEERY, and we will be very much obliged to you.

Mr. James R. WITTEN was in our valley several days last week, telling his many friends that he is a candidate for clerk of Circuit Court.
