Jno. E. JACKSON'S Miner nectar is the drink of the season.

Rev. J.H. WYSE will preach next Sunday morning and night, in the Episcopal church here at the usual hours.

Mr. William KELLY, son of William H. KELLY and Miss Tillie WITTEN, daughter of Hon. James R. WITTEN, will be married next Wednesday afternoon at the Methodist Church here.

D.H. LITZ and family are spending the week at Witten's Mill.

Mr. J.O. CORELL, of Thompson Valley, with his two bright little boys, paid us a pleasant call recently.

Mr. Ras LAWDER, and his daughter, Miss Jennie, returned on Wednesday from an extensive visit to Bluefield and other points. 

Miss Nannie TILLER is visiting her sister, Mrs. GROSECLOSE of Tip Top.

Mrs. Joseph HARRISSON, accompanied by her son, W.G. HARRISSON, went to Richmond on Wednesday to be treated by Dr. Ben JOHNSON. Her health has not been good of late.

Mr. C.W. JONE and bride returned yesterday and are stopping with Mr. and Mrs. Jeff WARD on Mechanics Ave.

Mrs. T.M. HAWKINS who has been under treatment here for some time, has returned to her home and is doing nicely.

Mr. and Mrs. B.W. STRAS have returned from their visit to Roanoke.
