Hall of Banner Lodge No. 164 I.O.O.F Richlands, Va. Whereas in the dispensation of Divine Providence our worthy and esteemed brother, M.H. UNDERDONK was, on he 25th of December, 1899, removed by death from our Lodge below to the supreme Grand Lodge above; and while we bow in meek and humble submission to the decree of an Alwise Providence, yet, we can but mourn the loss of our esteemed and worthy Brother. Be it, therefore, resolved, that in the death of Brother M.H. UNDERDONK, our Lodge has sustained an irreparable lose; the State a good citizen: the company with who he was employed an efficient and honorable employee; His grief stricken wife a tender and loving husband. Be it resolved 2nd; That as a further mark of respect to our Brother, a copy of these resolutions be spread on the minutes of our Lodge; and that a copy be sent to the Tazewell REPUBLICAN, Clinch Valley News and Bluefield Telegraph, with request that they publish the same. Resolved 3rd: That as a further mark of respect to our Brother, that our Lodge room be draped in mourning, and that each member of the Lodge wear a badge of mourning for thirty days. Resolved 4th: That a neatly engrossed copy of these resolutions, with the seal of the Lodge imprinted thereon, be sent to the grief stricken wife of our esteemed Brother. O.C. DUFF; W.R. STUART; B.F. Mr. J.R. LARID, who went to Jonesville last week to adjust a loss which was covered by one of the companies represented by the J.F HURT Insurance Agency, returned to Tazewell on Saturday, having performed his work satisfactorily.

Mr. H.W. POBST got back from his visit to Abingdon and Bristol on Monday.

Messrs H.G. MCCALL and Jeff GILLESPIE went to Pulaski and Wythe Counties the first of the week on business.

On Sunday night the thermometer fell thirty degrees. It stood thirty degrees above zero and Monday morning it was down to zero.
