POCAHONTAS
                

Rev. Mr. MEAD, Rector of Christ Church, gave a very fine and highly appreciated service on Easter morning to a cosmopolitan congregation. The church was beautifully decorated with palms, ferns, cut and potted flowers. Special music for the occasion was under the direction of Mrs. Frank LANDON, assisted by Mrs. R. HOLDER, of Bluefield with violin, and Mr. J. JAMESON, of Bramwell with cornet.

Mrs. James Franklin WARD leaves this week for New York City to visit her sister, Miss Mae JONES who is at a Belvieu Hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Jno. W. TOWNE of Graham, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Sol BAACH on Walter Street.

Mr. C.C. CORNETT was in the city Sunday.

Mrs. G.W. HAWLK, who spent the winter in Philadelphia, returned home Friday.

Mr. O.O. ECHOLS, has moved his family into one of the new houses on Moore street.

Davy JONES, son of Mr. Ed JONES, has his arm broken when at play on Saturday.

Mrs. Dr. ST. CLAIR, of Tazewell, is visiting Mrs. V.L. SEXTON on Church Street this week.

Miss Annie STRINE, of New York, has accepted a position as saleslady for the Colleries Co. in the dry goods department.
