GENERAL NEWS
                

R.C. CHAPMAN is expected home in a day or two.

Prof. Robert GRAHAM, of Pantops Academy is at home for vacation. Judge Jno. H. FULTON, of Wytheville is in the city attending Circuit Court.

Miss Lucille FLOYD, of Lynchburg, niece of Samuel ASTON, of Lebanon, is visiting in the family of Captain Alexander.

Messrs. William E. PEERY and C.M. LINKOUS have had granolithic pavements put in front of their residences on Tazewell Ave.

Warner WATKINS returned Monday evening from a several weeks visit to his friend, Mr. J. Walter WITTEN, at Grundy.

Messrs. C. W. SPRACHER, A.J. MAY, Jr. and D.H. LITZ returned last Saturday from Washington, DC, where they have been on an excursion. They all reported a grand time.

W.G. HARRISON has returned from the market where he bought a stock of goods for his large store.

Mrs. SUDDUTH'S baby is better, but still quite sick, at the Ratliffe.

John T. BARNES, and his sisters, Mrs. W.A. BARNES and Miss Fannie, returned yesterday afternoon, from Bluefield.

Charles THOMPSON, the carpenter, who cut his wrist severely last week, is in bad shape. It is feared he will lose his arm.
