The ladies Aid Society of the Methodist
Church gave a very profitable Easter bazaar at the Coffee Saturday evening which was largely attended. A fine variety of fancy drawings and other dainties on display which were readily disposed of ice cream and cake was served in the style of which these ladies are capable. A very pleasant evening was enjoyed by all present.
W.E. FOWLER is in Washington and Richmond, in the interest of his bank, The American National, which is to open its doors within the next few days.
T. WILLIAMSON, R.L. GILLESPIE, and H.C. CALLAWAY, were among those who visited Tazewell Saturday from Graham.
R.H. PALMER has returned from Norton, where he has been looking after business for the past week.
S.N. HUFFORD is spending several days in Norton and Corbin, looking after his interest at those points.
P.C. WINBOURN, wife and mother in law, Mrs. R.L. PORTER, will leave this week for Norfolk to visit Mr.
WINBOURN'S old home.
Rev. J.N. HARMAN of Tazewell, occupied the pulpit at the Christian church Sunday morning and evening.
Henry HARMAN is in Charleston in the interest of the Graham Furnace Company. The
furnace will be blown in blast within the next week or two it is said.
Rev. C.W. CASSELL, formerly pastor of the Lutheran Church here and at Bluefield, has been tendered the charge at Basic City, to which place he has gone to look over the field with a view of
accepting the work. Mr. CASSELL has sold his pretty residence here to Henry
HARMAN.
