SPRINGVILLE

Rev. G.W. HARLESS went to Pounding Mill Tuesday morning to assist in a protracted meeting at that place.

Mr. Alexander BEAVERS, of Giatto, West Virginia, is visiting his father, Robert BEAVERS, for a few days.

Mr. A.B. CARTER of Northwest Mo. is visiting relatives at this place. His father, James CARTER, who is now 83 years of age, moved to Missouri about fifty years ago, and he was anxious to see the land of his birth again as he was a very small boy when his father left this country, and the question in his mind after seeing it was; How do the people make a living here?

Some of the boys in this community, instead of going to Sunday School and preaching on Sunday, gather in some vacant house and play cards. Now I think if there is a law against such conduct as that, the sooner it is enforced the better for the community.

The Sunday School at this place was not so large on last Sunday, owing to the rain.

J.H. McMULLIN, went to Bluefield on business Monday.

Daniel CARTER still continues to improve and his friends hope to see him out soon.
