BENBOW & GENERAL NEWS

On Rev. W.W. CARSON preached a fine sermon at the White Church Sunday.

Mr. William WALK returned Sunday after an extended visit to Graham.

The High School closes the 24th after a very successful year.

Mr. G.O. THOMPSON and wife were with us Saturday and Sunday.

Preaching next Sunday by Rev. Mr. RECTOR at eleven o'clock, Sunday School at ten.

Messrs. Joe and Rob NEAL spent the night in Burke's Garden Saturday night attending a lodge meeting.

The arrival of several of Major and Mrs. HENRY'S children this week has the features of a "home-coming" though all the scattered flock are not in yet, but will be later. Miss Aylette has returned from Hollins, where she has been attending school. Mr. Ashby HENRY is here from Philadelphia, where he has a flourishing business, and Mr. J. Randolph HENRY, the lawyer, of Princeton, and his wife, occupy chief seats at the family board. One of the most attractive members of this numerous household, Mrs. WALKER, Washington City, and the children, will be in later, and W. Byrd HENRY, of New York, another lawyer son, also. "Bob" who is holding down a big job in New Orleans, as Superintendent of a large cotton mill, will also put in an appearance so soon as he can leave his seat on the lid which he is holding down, which no doubt is getting pretty warm. So Mr. and Mrs. HENRY enjoy the prospect of having all the chickens home during the summer, in the parent coop, and the summer will "be made glorious" inside as well as outside, the HENRY household. Would that every home in Tazewell and in the whole land may have the same great pleasure - one which comes with sadly decreasing frequency as the years go by.
