GENERAL NEWS

One of the most delightful outing imaginable or desirable was had last week by a party from this town and other sections of the county and several from other states. The party, with tents and all necessary camping paraphernalia and outfit, spent a week on the Clinch, at the famous Molly Hopper Hole, a few miles west of town. The party consisted of Rev. Mr. EDWARDS, of Richmond, who is summering in Tazewell; Messrs. Frank LEWIS, Roy S. THOMPSON, Otis ST. CLAIR, Robert MOORE, Estill STEEL, Prof. D.C GILLESPIE, Jug MAY, and Archie BUCHANAN; Misses Mary TUCK, Allie Grey BUCHANAN, Marjorie HARRISSON, Aylette HEARY, and Miss Bessie OSBORNE, of New Jersey and Miss Elenor MEEKS of Tennessee, who are summer guests in Tazewell. The party was chaperoned by Mrs. G.W. HARRISSON and Miss Joie BRITTIAN. The tents were conveniently pitched and finely located on the banks of the beautiful Clinch, at what is known locally as the Molly Hopper Hole, a broad, quiet sheet of clear water, which affords delightful swimming and also abounds in fish. So, the young people had various and pleasant diversions. The young men found, also, fine hunting in the vicinity. The campers were visiting daily by crowds of people from various points, and the social features of the outing were not among the least enjoyments by any means. On Sunday morning Rev. Mr. EDWARDS held services on the banks of the river, preaching a fine sermon, the audience numbering more than half a hundred, seated around him on the grass. The country people from the region round about Maxwell and from the wilderness came out to hear, and the sacred day was fittingly and appropriately observed. The party broke camp with many regrets that the outing could not be prolonged, but with the highest appreciation of the skill and thoughtfulness of Mrs. HARRISSON, who promoted the event, and as long as these young people live they will remember the outing on the Clinch, and the bright and pleasant summer of 1906.

We extend the glad hand to our friend Henry DAILY who has succeeded in winning the hand and heart of one of Tazewell's fairest and finest daughters - Miss Margarette LESTER. The happy consummation took place on Wednesday at the home of the brides parents, Mr. and Mrs. LESTER near Paint Lick. Mr. and Mrs. DAILEY will make their home in Texas.
