Mrs. R.K. GILLESPIE left on No. 12 yesterday for
North Fork, where today she will attend the wedding of her brother,
James O'KEEFFE.
Mrs. C.G. HURT, of Indian, spent Friday of last week visiting her
relatives, Mr. and Mrs. John B. HURT, and did some shopping while
here.
Mr. Frank WILSON and Miss Margaret MCNEIL, of
Fayetteville, NC, accompanied by the formers sister, Miss Cora, left on
No. 12 Monday to be married, and are expected home this morning on No.
5. The bride is an attractive daughter of Dr. J.W. MCNEIL, a
prominent physician in Fayetteville, and the groom is a son of J.P.
WILSON, agent and operator at this place, and is himself an agent
and operator of the N. & W. Their friends here wish them much happiness.
The bride was visiting the Misses WILSON, and was under age,
hence the elopement.
Mrs. James E. MCGUIRE, of Cedar Bluff, visited her sister, Mrs.
STEELE on Wed. afternoon of last week.
Mrs. Norman TURNER and children, after a pleasant trip to
relatives and friends here, and to her sister, Mrs. Charles GRIFFITH,
at Red Ash, returned on No. 12 Monday to her home at Ada, West Virginia.
Mrs. W.B. STEELE spent Friday of last week visiting her mother,
Mrs. J. Marion MCGUIRE, at Cedar Bluff.
Miss Nellie WITT spent last night visiting the home of her uncle.
W. B. STEELE on her way from Tazewell, where she had been
shopping.
Miss Pearl MCGUIRE and Mrs. M. J. STURGILL spent Friday
night and Saturday at Bluefield, interviewing the dentists.
Thanksgiving here passed off pleasantly - good dinners, etc. At night a
delightful Thanksgiving service was held at the church of God.
