ROCKY GAP

The many friends of Brother PHILLPS are sorry to learn he will not return to the work here but wish him much success in his new field. There was a sale of his household furniture Saturday.

Miss Lula STINSON is visiting relatives at Cove Creek.  Mr. G. W. HURT has recovered from an attack of grippe.

Mr. John DAVIS had the good luck last week to kill a fine gray fox near his home. He says he can beat any of the boys shooting.

Misses Cora and Dell THOMPSON and Cora WILEY spent a few days last week visiting relatives at this place.

Mr. M.A. THOMPSON was a business visitor in Bluefield and Graham last week. He was on the hunt from school books at the latter place.

Mrs. R.S. WILEY was visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. George HURT one day last week.

Mrs. Dr. J. J. BISHOP has been sick for several days.  Mrs. John HURT is on the sick list this week.

The many friends of Mr. Jacob BISHOP formerly of Clear Fork, but now of Blacksburg, are glad to learn after being a widower for some time, that he has taken unto himself a companion. They all wish him much happiness and I will add that, nineteen and ten must be a good year for the widowers and old maids to jump the broom stick.

Mr. Charlie CASSELL who has been quick sick is greatly improved.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Will STINSON Sunday night, a fine girl baby, Mother and child are doing well.
