Mrs. Alex RYLEY and Mrs. John ASBURY were
shopping at Tazewell Monday.
J.T. ALTIZER was quite sick a couple of days last week.
R.L. ELLIS, Whitewood, spent last night with her family here,
guests of Mr. and Mrs. R.M. SPARKS.
C.G. HURT, Indian, was a visitor to W. B. HARRIS, and
returned Saturday afternoon to take part in the spelling match, she
having been chosen as captain.
John STURGILL has recovered from a severe sick spell.
Mr. and Mrs. Byrd BREWSTER are now occupying their new cottage by
the Union Church.
Miss Leola DOUGHTON returned to Richlands Monday after spending a
couple of weeks with her cousin, Mrs. W. B. STEELE.
Mrs. W. B. HARRIS was on the sick list last Saturday and Sunday.
The greatest attraction at present is John GILLESPIE'S grey fox,
bought from John RINGSTAFF, he from Jacob JONES. Mr.
STURGILL is taming the fox. It is a beauty - almost grown. He has
refused several good prices for it.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom ENGLAND, Kentucky, are spending some time with
her parents, Rev. and Mrs. G.R. THOMAS. Mr. ENGLAND, it
will be remembered, was blown up in an explosion while thawing dynamite
and had only six more days of his job to finish. His sight and hearing
is impaired and he can scarcely walk unattended.
W. B. STEELE has about 150 lambs; have had no report from others.
