BURKE'S GARDEN

Rev. E. I. RITCHIE and wife reached the Garden Saturday after driving through from North Carolina in a buggy.

Mr. Frank J. MOSS has rented George B. FULLER'S farm near Adria and expected to move there in the near future. Mr. and Mrs. MOSS will be missed from the Garden.

Miss Bettie GROSECLOSE'S many friends here will be sorry to learn that she expects to move to Wythe County about the first of June.

Mrs. H. H. GREEVER was the guest of Miss Emma GREEVER Sunday.

Rev. W. W. HICKS preached two excellent sermons here Sunday and is calling on his many friends in the Garden this week.

Mrs. C. J. MOSS returned to her home at Tazewell Sunday after spending several weeks with homefolks here.

Mr. E. L. GRUBB says the price of Maple sugar has advanced to 25 cents per pound and 3 dollars per gallon for the syrup. However, we think he could be persuaded to sell a little cheaper then that.

Misses Emma and Etta GREEVER are thought to be a little better at this writing.

Rev. W. H. GREEVER left the Garden Monday for Washington City.

J. N. RHUDY spent part of last week with friends here.

Mrs. Robert S. MOSS is visiting relatives at Tazewell this week.
