BURKES GARDEN

Messrs. Vint MOSS and George FOX left Monday for Emory.

The schools at the Glade and Groseclose school houses opened Monday. The former will be conducted by Miss Nannie Bell GREGORY and the later by Miss Lettie RHUDY as teacher.

A number of relatives outside the Garden attended the funeral of Mrs. Mollie FULLER her Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer L. RHUDY made a trip to Bluefield Sunday.

Rev. W.W. HICKS and family spent the day very pleasantly at the home of N.W. STOWERS yesterday. H.R. STOWERS and J.T. FOX were also guests to dinner.

Rev. W.H. GREEVER will spend a day or two this week with homefolks here after which he will return with his children to Columbia, SC.

Mrs. P.H. EAGLE has taken suddenly ill at church Sunday, but is reported better now.

Mr. Luther NEEL, of Bluefield, sold a nice piano to H.R STOWERS one day last week.
