DEATHS

Very seldom does a community receive such a shock as did this one when on last Friday morning the news was flashed over the Garden that Mrs. Mollie FULLER was found dead at the home of her brother, John D. GREEVER. The cause of her death is unknown. The Lord, in His wise Providence, saw fit to call her from this world to join the company of friends and loved ones who had gone before. While her death is a great sorrow to her loved ones left behind, yet it should be a warning to all to be ready. "For in such an hour as ye think not the Son of Man cometh." Mollie Howard GREEVER was born August 2, 1838, marking her pilgrimage here 74 years, one month and three days. At the age of twelve years she united with the Lutheran church of which she remained a consistent member until her death. On March 15, 1852 she was united in marriage to Captain Beverly FULLER, who preceded her to the Spirit World about ten years ago. The funeral services were conducted at Central church Sunday by her pastor, Rev. E.I. RITCHIE, assisted by Rev. T.H. CAMPBELL, of the Baptist church. The large crowd at her funeral and the many beautiful floral tributes showed the high esteem in which she was held. She leaves an aged sister and two brothers besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn the loss. A FRIEND.

Mrs. FULLER'S death was caused by a fall from the back porch of the house. She went out on the porch during the night and it seems, walked off or fell from the porch, a distance of about six feet, to the ground. Her neck was dislocated by the fall. Her room was downstairs, while all the other members of the family, except her little grand nephew, who slept in the room with her, were upstairs.

Col. R. C. GILLESPIE, a native of Tazewell county, died at his home in Huston, Texas, recently. He was 77 years of age, and had been in poor health for several years. He leaves two sons, R.S. GILLESPIE, formerly of Tazewell, now of Houston, and C.B. GILLEPSIE of the Houston Chronicle. His only brother died suddenly last week, at his home in Texas. Deceased was born in the Cove on the farm now owned by W. Jeff GILLESPIE. There was quite a large family of children, nearly, if not quite, all of whom are dead. He was first cousin to Mr. Clinton BARNS, their mothers are sisters, and was related more or less closely to a large number of people in this county. His son, R.S GILLESPIE, married Miss Stella CROCKETT of this town.
