Mr. and Mrs. H.C. BOURNE are visiting their parents at Gratton.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie JONES are the proud parents of a bouncing baby daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. W.A. BOURNE and little daughter were in Bluefield this week.
Mrs. Ella BUCHANAN and daughter were in town shopping Wednesday.
Mrs. S.B YOST entertained a number of lady friends Wednesday.
Mrs. Kate HEDRICK is very ill at her home.
Mrs. J. Haskins THOMPSON, whose critical illness was reported in the last issue, died at her home in Chillicote, Mo. and was
buried there on last Friday. Her brother, G.W. DOAK, of this town, was at her bedside when the end came. Mrs.
THOMPSON was 63 years of age, and besides a husband, leaves a family of seven children, all of whom are grown. The family moved from Tazewell about 23 years ago. Before marriage she was Miss Rachel
DOAK, sister to our townsman, G.W. DOAK, her only living brother. Mrs. Nannie
CARR, a sister, lives at Loid, California, survives. The funeral service
was conducted by a Presbyterian minister, of which church Mrs. THOMPSON was a lifelong and honorable member.
The little son of Mrs. Ocie SKEEN of Honaker is spending some time here with old friends. It was reported sometime ago that he had accidentally shot himself.
