April 4, 1913

LOCAL TAZEWELL

Miss Irene EMBRY of Graham was the guest of Miss Lula JONES Wednesday.

Contractor A.G. KISER has began work on the residence of A.G. Russell.

Gay HARRISSON, a well-known citizen, died at his home on Dry Fork the first of the week. He was sixty-seven years old, and is survived by several brothers.

Fred RUDD, the assistant to C.T. PATTON, has perfected a nail drawing device that does the work. It is constructed on a scientific principle, giving sufficient leverage to pull the largest and heaviest nails. RUDD constructed the device during his leisure hours in the shop.

A number of the pupils of the High School failed to appear for lessons on the first of April, thereby "fooling" their faithful teachers. It is evident that this class of young Americans seize every opportunity offered to observe holidays peculiar to their liking.
