POUNDING MILL

Death again invaded our town and took Laura Belle, the beloved wife of James FIELDS and daughter of Thomas and Sarah Elizabeth TATE (the latter deceased) of this town. She was 30 yrs. old the 27th of last May, and had been sick for two years, bedfast 6 months to the day. Her death occurred at the home of her brother and father here on Thursday night July 10 at 8:30. Funeral and burial took place at Jone's Chapel, near Cedar Bluff on Friday afternoon, Rev. JOHNSON of Cedar Bluff circuit. The cause of her death was consumption. Her mother died 7 years ago and her sister 4 years ago with the same disease. She was converted several years ago and baptized by Rev. DOYLE, of Boston Mass. She was ready and willing to depart and be with Jesus, exhorted her husband to raise their two sons, 8 and 10 years, right. She leaves two sisters, four brothers. Much sympathy goes out to the bereaved ones. May they all meet her in heaven. She was a good wife and mother, was raised at this place. Her many friends deplore her taking.
