Mrs. Ollie HURT returned to Tazewell yesterday afternoon, after a few days at her home on the farm.

Jeff LOVELL, a great rat shooter, accidentally shot off the second toe of his right foot yesterday and badly mangled another. Dr. COMBS dressed the wound.

Mrs. C.M. HUNTER was shopping in Richlands Friday.

Mrs. CRAIG was shopping in Tazewell Friday and Richlands Saturday.

Mrs. W.H. STEELE and daughter, Miss Uva, were shopping in Bluefield Thursday and Friday.

The Odd Fellows in full regalia, marched from the town hall to Union church Sunday and enjoyed a sermon by the Rev. Ezra LINKOUS of Indian.

N.O. and J.B. GILLESPIE visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John GILLESPIE near Wittens Mill. 

Born on yesterday to Mr. and Mrs. STAMPER, a girl.

Dr. COMBS returned yesterday from a few days visit to his brother in Grundy. His sister from the East joined him in Bluefield and made the visit also. 

Miss Mamie DUNCAN is handling the yardstick in the Ringstaff Sparks store.

The following persons attended the Church of God at Maxwell Sunday: Rev. and Mrs. G. R. THOMAS, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph SMITH and four children, Mrs. Mattie BRUSTER  (nee: Mattie Earls) and Mrs. M.J. STURGILL. Six persons were baptized in Clinch River. Preaching by Rev. RIDDLE of Johnson City, Tenn.
