GENERAL NEWS
                

J.H. WILLIAMS attended the Roosevelt show at Tazewell Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Tom RINGSTAFF were visitors to Bluefield Monday.

Oscar HOOPS, J.T. ALTIZER, Alex BEAVERS, were business visitors to Tazewell today.

C.H. STEELE of Paint Lick was the guest of his brother here Friday. He reports his son, John, having arrived home the previous afternoon, having gotten his final discharge from the army. His son, Edgar, is still in France.

Mrs. Gus CHRISTIAN was a recent visitor to Bluefield.

Mrs. Henry SHAMBLIN (Nee: Mattie Earls Brewster) visited her sister, Mrs. Arch BRUSTER, (Nee: Cynthia Earls) at Maxwell last week. Both Mr. and Mrs. BRUSTER were very sick with influenza.  Note:  Should be Brewster.

Rev. Nannie OSBORNE and little son were here yesterday afternoon. She had been to Belfast Mills helping her brother, Rev. James GRAHAM, in a protracted meeting.

Miss Gussie CHRISTIAN has been confined to her bed for the past week by a severe cold.

Mrs. Ira SIMPSON had the misfortune to run the head of a needle in the end of her first finger of the right hand while brushing down the bosom of her dress, since which time she has been ill. This should be a warning to those accustomed to sticking needles in their blouses.

Mr. John LOVELL, who has lung disease, is reported being seriously ill.

Born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert PETTS, a daughter. All doing well. There is also a fine daughter at Mr. and Mrs. F. M. MYERS, not previously reported.
