HOTEL IS THE MAIN QUESTION
Board of Trade Meeting Tonight, Will Hear Reports of Canvassers and Determine
What Shall Be Done.
President W.A. SCOTT has called a meeting of the Tazewell North Tazewell Board of Trade for tonight to consider the hotel proposition or situation. The committee that was recently appointed has been making a canvass of the business men of the town, and have a report to make. There seems to be no question that a hotel is needed, and there appears also to be a willingness on the part of the people to subscribe the money, the only question at issue
being whether the subscribers would be willing for their money to be put in repairing the old hotel or building a new one. A number of suitable sites for the building
are available.
The President has issued the following call for the meeting tonight:
On account of bad weather and notice not having been given, we did not have a meeting on the 27th. We, however, have concluded that it would be well for us to have a meeting on Friday night at half past seven o'clock, and devote discussion entirely to the hotel proposition.
It is earnestly requested that all citizens, of both Tazewell and North Tazewell, no matter
whether members of the Board of Trade or not, will be present at this meeting, as it is a meeting which we are all vitally interested. Farmers of the county are also urged to attend.
We all know that a nice hotel is one of the greatest assets at town can have, and a town without a hotel is not considered much of a town. We have already lost enough of the town to pay for a hotel. We must have some team work if we are to accomplish anything. First, all together, be at the meeting, come with the determination to do something and to have a hotel, use business
judgment, lay aside both personal interests and jealousy. Make up your mind we are going to have this hotel, for we are, and get ready to do your part and the some. We are going to expect everybody to be present at half past seven o'clock, Friday night, March 5th. As good citizens it is our duty. W.A.
SCOTT, President Board of Trade.
