At Pocahontas Rev. Dr. John F.
VINES, pastor of First Baptist church of Roanoke, is assisting Rev. W.R.
RICKMAN, pastor of Pocahontas Baptist church in a revival. Rev. J.S.
RUSHING, a singer of the Home Missing Board's Evangelistic Staff, is leading the singing.
Rev. W.R. RICKMAN and family have been stopping at Pocahontas Inn since their return from North Carolina. The repairs to the parsonage are not yet completed.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam HOCK, of Johnnasburg, South Africa, arrived in Pocahontas last week. Mr.
HOCK will be associated with the People's Cash Store, J.D. and L.
RAFFEL, owners.
Mrs. James F. DUDLEY, of West Graham, sustained a very painful and serious accident Tuesday, when she fell down the stairs at her residence. Her knee was fractured, also an ankle. Dr. H.B.
FRAZIER was called and rendered first aid. The ambulance was called and she was taken to a hospital at Bluefield, where she is having the best of care and attention.
The Pocahontas and Bramwell High School baseball teams clashed swords here Tuesday in a real interesting game which was hotly contested, but the visitors were losers by the score of 9 to 6. The Pocahontas team also played Northfolk High School on Thursday and the Graham High School team on Saturday. Carl
MAGRILL is the manager of the Pocahontas team, and he requests any high school team in this section that wants a game to correspond with him.
Mr. M. ROTH, proprietor of the New York Hardware Co. has made a
valuable present to the Jewish Cemetery Association of a beautiful
metal arch at the entrance to the cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. M. BLOCH have returned from a ten days visit to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence
BLOCH, at Kimberly, West Virginia.
Mr. and Mrs. W.K. MAXEY were guests during the week of Mr. and
Mrs. Rufus HALE, at Midway.
