Plans have been perfected for improvements to the Jeffersonville hotel early this year. Mr. DEKAS, the proprietor, has already contracted with Heldreth to do the work, and says that quite extensive improvements will be made. The entire front is to be altered, and inside changes will be made, on the first floor as well as on the second floor. It is the purpose of the management to give Tazewell a modernly equipped hotel, it is stated, one that will meet the demands all around. Another new building is under contemplation, rumor says. At least one new residence is planned for the early spring by a young man of this town who may have ideas in his head. There is a constant demand here for houses for rent, inquiries being frequently from outside the county. None of which can be filled, as there are no houses for rent at this time. The business outlook for the year is about as usual for Tazewell. The merchants report last years business good. Invoicing has not been completed, but the geneal opinion expressed by the merchants is that the past sason was good upon the whole. There were no business failures or troubles last year. The churches were usually prosperous. Large sums of money were raised by the churches for campaigns of different kinds, as well as for home expenses. A fine lot of road building was put through, and the 1921 will be an improvement in this regard over 1920. One of the best pieces of work during the year was the building of the concrete street and sidewalk on Pine Street by KINCER and VERMILLION
