Cedar Bluff - The Parent-Teachers Assoc. gave a very interesting program Friday night to a packed house. A reading was given by Miss
JENNINGS. Every where people were heard discussing the question; "which is the more useful the broom or dish rag" It was really settled on Friday night when Mr. John GOODWIN and Charles
NIXON defended the broom, and Mr. Henry NORMAN, and Raymond BROWN enlightened the ladies of the village on the uses of the faithful old dishrag. After much deliberation the judges decided in favor of the dishrag.
Miss BYER, the Home Demonstration Agent for Tazewell County, accompanied by Miss SLOCUM from Henrico County, visited Cedar Bluff High School Tuesday and gave a very interesting talk on club work for boys and girls.
A letter was received from Rev. OWEN, formerly the pastor of the Cedar Bluff Methodist Church, telling of his new charge at Clintwood in Dickenson County. He is pleasantly situated and likes his new work very much.
Mrs. W.T LOWE, accompanied by her sister, Miss Irene MCCALL, spent the weekend in Tazewell.
