GENERAL NEWS

Mrs. H.W. POBST has just received message announcing the arrival of her sister, Elizabeth V. QUINN in New York from Coblenz, Germany. Her many friends will be glad to hear of her return.

Mr. R.C CHAPMAN and son, William BYRD, who have spent several months in Florida, have returned to their home here.

Miss Eva STEELE and Miss Elizabeth JACKSON, teachers in Norton High School, spent last weekend with parents here.

Mr. and Mrs. J.C. BARNES returned last week from a visit to Richmond.

Mr. and Mrs. Ivor G. CAUDILL, of Norton, were visitors to Tazewell this week.

Mr. Albert MCCALL, who has been in War, West Virginia for several years, is back at his former position as clerk for C.T. PEERY and Sons.

Annie LITZ, student at Virginia College, Lynchburg, visited home folks here this week.

A bunch of keys were picked up on Burke's Garden Mountain Wednesday by Mr. M.E. MUIR. The owner may call at this office and get them.

Tazewell and community has rather more than its usual number on the sick list. Mrs. J.A. LESLIE has slight attack of grip. Miss Nancy LESLIE is slowly regaining her strength after about a week of the flu. The editor of this paper was laid up with about the same trouble for nearly a week.
