H.G. PEERY, North Tazewell, who has been ill for a month, was taken to sanitarium in Bluefield on Wednesda, reported to be in a very serious condition.
John C. ST. CLAIR is still confined to his room, but is reported improving slowly.
Margaret, daughter of Mrs. Sallie HARRISSON, is still quite ill, but reported to be some better.
Miss Virginia PEERY is able to leave her room, and walk abut the house, and is slowly gaining strength.
Quite a number of cases of the flu are reported from different sections of the county.
George W. LEWIS was on the street Yesterday. He is improving.
On last Thursday Mrs. A.J. TYNES celebrated her 80th birthday. All of her children, 9, were present on this happy
occasion. Many friends came in during the afternoon to wish her many returns of the day. Not many of us have the privilege of celebrating our 80th birthdays with all our children with us. May many more such happy celebrations come to our friend and neighbor, Mrs.
TYNES.
Mrs. L.A. TYNES, Mrs. O'KEEFFE, POBST and Mrs. MCKENRY are attending the
Woman's Missionary Conference at Knoxville, this week.
Mrs. T.A. DRAPER, of Richlands is opening to patrons a specialty shop for ladies ready to wear apparel. She has just returned from New York and Eastern markets where her purchases for the stock was made. She states that she will be ready for business within a few
days.
