Mr. Will HANKINS
and sister, Miss Narcie, of Richlands, call on their aunt, Mrs. W. B. STEELE

Mr. W.W. SAFEWRIGHT of Roanoke, joined his wife here on Saturday,
returning Sunday night. Guests of their grandmother, Mrs. Martha SPARKS.
Dr. and Mrs. Rex STEELE and Miss Mary BRUSTER went to
Tazewell Monday, for their son, Billie, who had been away for 2 months. He is 16 months
old today. Mrs. STEELE came home Saturday night and is gaining strength
after 2 months sickness.
Mr. and Mrs. Noah COMPTONS house burned Monday
night between 9 and 10 o'clock. The roof was falling in when discovered. Lost everything
except a few dishes. They occupied the Becca DAVIS house in the Daughten
Hollow, near top of Smith Ridge.
Mr. Milton HARRIS, Pounding Mill Branch, was a visitor here Tuesday. He
is an old soldier and will be 86 years old June 15th.
Mr. and Mrs. James HUNTER, (nee Miss Ollie Kate Gillespie) of
West Va. visited parents Mr. and Mrs. C. M. HUNTER and sister, Miss Mary
B. GILLESPIE and brothers, F. O. and Poose, the past weekend.
Malcolm TRAYER, Bristol, visited his father, C. H. TRAYER
and family, Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. W. B. STEELE on Sunday had the following relatives to call:
Mr. and Mrs. Grat STEELE and son, John, a Richlands H. S. Senior; Charlie
STEELE, Jr., all of Paint Lick; Mr. and Mrs. John B. GILLESPIE
and daughters, Cedar Bluff.
