VANCE, 89 years old, died February 3rd, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Bane
ASBURY, near Adria. Rev. William HANKINS conducted the funeral service at the family cemetery on Stony
Ridge February 5. He is survived by a wife and five children, Mrs. Bane
ASBURY, Elijah
VANCE, Dewey VANCE, Henry VANCE. He was a member of the Adventist Church, and left
assurances of readiness for death. Deceased served faithfully and gallantly in the Civil
War. The Daughters of the Confederacy provided a beautiful wreath of flowers which was
placed on the grave by Judge S.M.B. COULLING, of Tazewell. This was much appreciated by
the members of the family.
