LOCAL TAZEWELL

Died suddenly December 8, 1932, at ten PM at the hospital of Dr. Oliver HALL, Knoxville, Tennessee, Ann Ellis SHETLON, aged twenty months. She was the only child of Louise Jackson SHELTON and George H. SHELTON, of Kingsport, Tennessee. "We asked life of thee and thou gavest her long life: even for ever and ever."

On last Friday, PM, about 4:30, I was accidentally shot in front of my house on the car line, while getting out of my truck. I had placed a pistol in the seat behind the cushion and laid my coat on the seat. The coat worked partly down behind the cushion. On getting out of the car and pulling the coat out of the seat I jerked the pistol out, the pistol falling, struck the car and was discharged and the bullet passing through my leg, not far from the knee. I am getting on fine and hope to be about again soon - Sam MOORE.

Sam, what business did you have with that gun in your truck?

Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 o'clock by Rev. Leroy HANKINS, of Cedar Bluff. Burial was made in the family cemetery. Active pallbearers were uncles: J.R. BROWN, E.P. BROWN, Walter BROWN, Elmer WATSON, Tom MUTTER and J.C. WITT. Flowers bearers were teachers and classmates.

We wish to thank our many friends for their kindness and sympathy shown us during the illness and death of our daughter, Edna, and for the beautiful floral designs. We especially thank Dr. J.W. WITTEN, Dr. James WILLIAMS and J.C. WITT - Mr. and Mrs. M.C. BROWN.
