Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Trayer and Kitty, Bluefield, Va. spent the day recently with Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Trayer.

Mr. and Mrs. Claude Thomas gave a shower at their home Wednesday night of last week, in honor of their nephew and his bride, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Smith, of Portsmouth, Ohio, who were married at Greenup, Ky., on Dec. 5th. There was a large crowd at the shower and many beautiful presents were received. The bride was Miss Sallie Sayler before marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. P.F Howell and Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Glover, Tazewell, visited Dr. and Mrs. Rex Steele here recently.

Mr. and Mrs. James Mulkey and son Opie, Mr. and Mrs. Ellis McGee have returned from a visit to their daughter and sister, Mrs. Earnest Jones and family.

Mr. and Mrs. W.H. McGee and son, Billy, spent the holidays with parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.H. Foster in East Radford. Their relatives, Mrs. D.L. Basham and Miss Elizabeth Gillespie of Roanoke returned home with them for a visit.

A large number of Moose Lodge members from here attended the burial of Henry Yates, Russell county deputy sheriff, at Honaker, recently. Among those who attended from here were: Mr. and Mrs. Caleb Cochran, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Robinette and sons, David and Samuel, Raymond and Fred Johnson, Tommy and Willis RINGSTAFF, A.O. Hilt, S.E. Sykes, Mr. Elswick, Clytus Elswick and family, Andy and Tom Mulkey and Bill Mack Sparks, and perhaps others.
