Mrs. R.M. Mulkey and daughters, Ruth and Evelyn, Mrs. Hunter, Bluefield, W.Va., and Mrs. Jane Green were dinner guests Wednesday of Mrs. W.S. Witt and daughters.

Mrs. Georgie Ascue had as her dinner guests Tuesday, Mr. and Mrs.. J.L Ascue and family, Mrs. Margie Ascue and daughters, Mrs. J.A. Vernon and sister, Gladys Payne.

John Alec Steele has returned to school at Roanoke, after spending the holidays with homefolks.

Mrs. W.S. Witt and two daughters, and grandson spent Friday night with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Puckett, Thompson Valley.

John HELMANDOLLAR, a well known citizen of this community, died on the farm of Mr. C.H. HARAN January 1st, and was buried in the new cemetery at Tazewell the day following, the service at the grave being in charge of the Rev. G.C. MCKAY. He is survived by his wife, two sons and two brothers. The brothers are Charles and William HELMANDOLLAR of this community. The deceased was a son of the late Paris HELMANDOLLAR, who died from freezing on Rich Mountain 41 years ago this winter.
