Impressive rites were conducted at the home of Sidney CLINE on
Tuesday afternoon for Armister CLINE, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Sidney CLINE, of Red Root Ridge, who met death under the wheels
of an east bound freight train sometime between midnight and
daylight Sunday. It has not been learned yet in just what manner
he came to his death. He was seen at a filling station near the
scene of the accident at 12:45 am Sunday and was found lying in
the center of the track early Sunday by a citizen who was
passing. It is thought that he sat down on the track enroute to
his home and dropped off to sleep and train No 85 traveling
east, ground him under the wheels. His body was horribly
mangled.
Funeral
and burial services were held Monday afternoon at Ward's Cove
for Oscar LESTER, who died at the home of Henry
RATCLIFF, in
Bluefield WV. Mr. LESTER was 62 years of age and a lifelong
resident of the Ward's Cove section of Tazewell County. While
visiting in the home of Mr. RATCLIFF he was stricken with
pneumonia, which caused his death. He is survived by one
daughter, Mrs. Charles SHEPARD, of Bluefield, and by a brother
of Washington County.
