Richlands - A number of relatives gathered at the home of Mrs. Mattie Griffith Monday evening to help celebrate her 73rd birthday. At a late hour refreshments were served to Mr. and Mrs. Claude Helton and daughter, Margaret; Mrs. A. A. Wysor; Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Shreve and children, Junior, Billy, and Norma; Mrs. Clarence Blankenship, Charlie Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Stinson and children, Mary Jayne, Ruth Ann and Jay Jerome.

Death claimed Bob GILLESPIE, 76, Saturday evening at his home on Middle Creek. Mr. GILLESPIE has been in failing health for some time. Besides his wife, who before marriage was Margaret HARRIS, of Pounding Mill Branch, he is survived by three children, six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home, conducted by Rev. E. H. EPLING. Burial was in Thomas cemetery at Pounding Mill.
