GENERAL NEWS
                

George A. GIBSON, prominent and well known citizen of Thompson Valley, died last Saturday night at his home. He was eighty-four years of age. Mr. GIBSON was born at Hansonville in Russell county. At the age of 14 he came to Tazewell county where he engaged in farming. In 1872, he married Miss Mary E. RHUDY, who died in 1911. They were the parents of 11 children, six of whom died several years ago. There survives: Curtis GIBSON, of Salem, Va.; Oscar GIBSON, of Bluefield, Va.; Leroy GIBSON, of Tazewell, R.F.D. mail carrier; Mrs. Cynthia WIMMER and Rebecca GIBSON, of Thompson Valley. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill church, with Rev. C.F. LUNDY of the Methodist Church, in charge, assisted by Rev. D. F. WYRICK, of Springton, WV. and Rev. W. P. NICKEL, of the Thompson Valley Presbyterian church. Interment was made in the family cemetery.
