Mr. James J. DYE, of Lebanon, died on June 18 at the
age of 79. He was a native of Russell County. There survives ten children,
his wife preceded him in death two years ago. A son, A. A. DYE is a
resident of Tazewell.
Isaiah JONES died Tuesday at the home of his son, G. Cleve JONES
in Tazewell, where he and Mrs. JONES had made their home for several
years. He was 78. Mr. JONES was a native of Elk Garden, Russell
county and was employed for a number of years on the Stuart farm, and later
was employed on the Smith farm in Russell County. There survives his wife
who before marriage was Miss Ruth HOLMES, of Washington county; three
daughters, Mrs. F. L. STINSON and Mrs. Glenn HELMANDOLLAR, of
Beckley WV; Mrs. Ballard MARTIN, of Plasterco Va; and five sons, H.
B. of Gaithereburg, Md; Richard F. of Lebanon, Walter of Jewell Ridge, G.
Clevel and Leslie of Tazewell. Funeral services were conducted Wed.
afternoon from the Main street Methodist church and were in charge of the
Rev. T. Paul SIMS, assisted by the Rev. A. B. WING, of the Elk
Garden Methodist church. Burial was in Maplewood cemetery at Tazewell.
