George R. GILLESPIE died at this home in Crockett's Cove last Thursday of a heart ailment. He was a son of Mrs. Ava K.
GILLESPIE and the late R. G. GILLESPIE and he was unmarried and had continued to live at the Gillespie homestead while employed as a miner by the Pocahontas Fuel company at Bishop. He is survived by his mother and four brothers: H. T.
GILLESPIE, of Berwind, WV; Joseph GILLESPIE, of Keen Mountain; Kenneth and James
GILLESPIE, of Tazewell. Funeral services were conducted at the Gillespie home in Crockett's Cove Saturday, and were in charge of the Rev. G. T.
JORDAN, pastor of the Methodist church at Bishop. Interment was in the family graveyard.
Reece M. RUSSELL, of Cedar Bluff, died Monday in a Richlands hospital. He was a son of the late John and Alice
RUSSELL and was a veteran of WWI. He is survived by his wife and the following children: Mrs. Lance
LUTTRELL, Peggy, Pauline and Robert RUSSELL, of Cedar Bluff; Mrs. G. V.
OLIVE of New York City, and the following brothers and sisters: Jeff
RUSSELL, Petersburg; Charles RUSSELL, Bluefield; Mrs. James
MCGUIRE, Chilicothe, Ohio; Mrs.
Walter HASH, Bluefield and Mrs. Pat MANN, of Richlands. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church with the Rev. W. E.
MUSTARD, of Tazewell and the Rev. A. B. WINFORD, of Richlands, in charge.
John Samuel WHEELER, aged 62, died at his home in Pounding Mill Monday after an illness of two months. Mr.
WHEELER was born in Tazewell county and was the son of the late Dock and Sarah Vandyke
WHEELER. He served in the artillery corps from November, 1904 to 1907. He is survived by his wife and four sons: Henry J., of Oceana; James E, of Red Ash; Charlie T., of Tazewell; Herman L., and Robert H., of Pounding Mill, and two daughters, Miss Martha Lou
WHEELER, of Pounding Mill and Mrs. Virgie GIBSON of Rogersville, Tenn. and three brothers. Tom, of Yukon, Robert, of Pounding Mill and Charles of Beckley. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday morning from the home.
Buren E. WALKER, aged 61, died Tuesday in a Mount hospital. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Rocky Mount Methodist church with interment in High Street Cemetery. Mr.
WALKER is survived by his wife, Mrs. Garnett W. WALKER, on son, two daughters, three sisters and two grandchildren. Mr. Noel
WALKER of Tazewell is a brother. Mr. and Mrs. WALKER and N. M.
WALKER Jr. attended the funeral.
