DEATHS
                

Mrs. Maude AKERS, a former resident of Bluefield, who had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Charles THOMPSON of Boisevane, died Thursday in the Bluefield sanitarium. Mrs. AKERS was born near Richlands and had spent most of her life in Smyth county, moving to Bluefield in 1934.

James Arthur RILEY of Johnson's Branch, near Adria was found dead Wednesday morning before the road leading to his house. Mr. RILEY left his home Tuesday on a business mission expecting to return to the next day. According to the physician making the examination of the body, death had occurred from natural causes. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Charles QUESENBERRY, Mrs. William A. FOX, and Misses Mary, Grace and Ann Lou RILEY; three sons, William, Charles Ed. and Carl Luther, all of North Tazewell. Three sisters also survive; Mrs. Samuel GREEN of Tip Top; Mrs. Maude JENNINGS, of Pocahontas; Mrs. J.C. BISHOP, of Welch, WV and five brothers, Bennie and Walter, of Horsepen; Everett and Mack of Bishop and Robert of Anawalt.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth WINGO of Raven, died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed. SHELTON in Pineville WV. Mrs. WINGO was born in Tazewell county, a daughter of the late John and Mary LOWE. Four children survive, seven children having preceded her in death.
