GENERAL NEWS
                

Mrs. Julia WILLIAMS, 77, Pounding Mill resident, died last Friday in a Wytheville hospital. She was born at Tip Top, a daughter of the late William W. and Melvia Laird BROWN. She resided at Pounding Mill her entire life. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1915. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Tom RINGSTAFF, of Iaeger, W.V.; Two sons, M-Sgt. Tom WILLIAMS in Korea and Pat WILLIAMS. Funeral services were held Sunday in Pounding Mill Union Church with the Rev. W. E. MUSTARD in charge, assisted by the Rev. M. E. N. LINDSAY.

Mrs. Olverta Stevenson Sutherland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Stevenson of Tazewell and Mr. George I. Beavers were married Saturday April 7th. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. W. E. Mustard at the Tazewell Circuit parsonage. Mr. Beavers is the son of J. C. Beavers and the late Mr. Beavers of Maxwell. He is a veteran of WWII and served for a number of months in Austrilia. Mr. and Mrs. Beavers are making their home in North Tazewell..
